I bought this for my 23 month old granddaughter around the same time I bought her the Cinderella lego set so that she would know who Cinderella is. She enjoys having me read this to her. Here is why I like it.

1. This covers all the points of the Cinderella story in enough detail for a young child.

2. The book has beautiful color illustrations that keep my granddaughters attention.

3. The quality of the book is just fine. Ignore the negative reviews that complain the pages are hard to turn or that there is a problem with the binding. This is a thin golden book for children, not a thick hardcover for adults. Yes, the pages slightly protrude beyond the hard cover--but it is so minimal that it is "nitpicking" to complain about this. Instead focus on the fact that the binding on the book is sturdy and will last for years to come.

Bottom line: This book is a great way to introduce a young child to Cinderella.

This is a good, short adaptation of the Disney movie version of the classic "Cinderella" story. Keeps some of the new characters that the Disney crew created, including Lucifer the cat and the mice that Cinderella protects. Touches on all the main points of the movie, and sticks pretty closely to the movies plotline. Perfect tool for encouraging kids who like the movie to also pick up a book and read.
